They named their project after the nogal tree, a nod to their beginnings and to the natural rhythms they hoped to honor in their cooking and gatherings.

With backgrounds in interior design and restaurant kitchens, the two envisioned something beyond a traditional restaurant. When community felt scarce, they imagined a new kind of gathering space. What began with intimate dinners in their apartment eventually evolved into a supper club in Mexico City, where every meal is crafted to feel like a behind-the-scenes experience.

The First Supper Club

They still remember that first night clearly: eight guests, all strangers, seated at one table. Laughter, clinking glasses, and the hum of conversation filled the room. By the end of the night, new friendships had taken root. That atmosphere—warm, unscripted, and real—remains the signature of Nogal Nogal.

Rooted in Ingredients, Built on Relationships

Rebeca and Xavi visit Mexico City's Central de Abastos each week to handpick ingredients. They speak with the same vendors, explore seasonal offerings, and build menus from what inspires them. It's about relationships—not just with ingredients, but with every person involved in the experience: farmers, wine suppliers, and returning guests.

Unlike traditional restaurants, Nogal Nogal blurs the lines between kitchen and table. The chefs serve dishes directly to guests. Dishes are served family-style, encouraging interaction, connection, and curiosity. You can stay late after the meal, striking up conversations with strangers by the flicker of candlelight—without the pressure of signing a check or being rushed out of the restaurant.

A New Kind of Gathering

Nogal Nogal continues to evolve with upcoming collaborations—including monthly wine selections and cooking residencies with some of Mexico City’s most exciting chefs and international supper clubs.
